. A fabulous opportunity to experience a Spanish lifestyle!

This property really is in true Spain!!

It is situated in a small Andalucian mountain village close to the city and airport of Almeria.

OLULA DE CASTRO is a white farming village in the Sierra de los Filabres.

It is a mountain village 1000 meters above sea level.
The mountains dominate the views and are scattered with olive, and almond trees, which are a stunning sight in February when they are in bloom.
The valleys are cultivated by the locals.
The climate is clear and sunny with minimal rain.
It can be cold in winter, but the property has oil-fired central heating and for the hot summers air conditioning.

The village is very quiet, there is no through traffic.
It is a haven for walkers and bird watchers.
The wild flowers in spring are stunning.

Just 40 minutes from Almeria airport, 50 minutes from Almeria City & 60 minutes from the beaches of Roquetas, Aguadulce, Cabo de Gata, Mojacar & Las Negras.

The property is on the edge of the village, with its own driveway, just a 5 minute walk to the Plaza where the 17th century church and the Town Hall are. It is the centre of the village where the locals meet and market stalls sell their wares.
There is a bar where you can stop for refreshments.

A recently opened Restaurant is a welcome addition to the village. http://www.restauranteelcortijillo.com/

The house is unique having been built by ourselves 18 years ago. It is constructed in the character of the village, but designed to meet all the standards of modern living.
We have lived in the village for 25 years and are reluctantly having to sell. We know that this property will really suit someone who wishes to immerse themselves in the culture, countryside, and Spanish experience that Olula De Castro can offer.
This house is perfect for running an internet business, working from home, while being able to live in Spain!

The property is on 1000 sq meters of land on 3 levels of terrace and gardens, with its own small private pool.
It is connected to all mains services, internet, satellite T.V. & telephone.
(There is a website called unique Almeria which will tell you otherwise, this website is about 15 years out of date!)

The property is for sale unfurnished. The updated photos now show the house empty. The interior has been freshly painted white throughout.

The construction is traditional to the village, with tiled floors throughout, pine doors and windows.
The house is built on two terraces so from the front it is one storey and from the back there are two storeys.
The size of the construction is 207 sq meters.
Ground floor is 122 sq mts, lower floor 85 sq mts

The house is reached via a private driveway and has a secure perimeter fence and entrance gates. There is a double garage at the front of the property.
The patio at the front entrance is spacious, shaded and private, with a small pool of 3mts by 5mts.

Entering the front door into a hallway, to the left is the living room/kitchen. To the right is a bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is a toilet in the hall.

The living room is 26 sq mts, and leads on to a small balcony with views of the mountains and terraces.
The bedroom on this floor is 16 sq mts.

The second floor is downstairs, reached by stairs from the kitchen.
There is a hallway which leads to the bedrooms and out onto the garden.
There are two 12 sq mt bedrooms each with its own ensuite bathroom and built in wardrobe.
A third room, of 13 sq mts, could be used as a bedroom, playroom or office.

A word about the water!

Most of the drinking water in Spain is hard and although safe it is not pleasant to taste. Most Spanish buy water for this reason.

The water in Olula de Castro comes from the mountains above the village and is very soft. It tastes better than any bottled water. In 25 years living there none of our electrical appliances furred up and I never used salt in the dishwater.

the village has a fabulous public swimming pool, open during the school holidays
