Living in Paradise in the Philippines

Back to basics in a comfortable, tropical style

by Robert van Halderen

I've always been fascinated by the idea of living in a tropical paradise. I've always dreamed of waking up to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, and spending my days exploring the lush rainforest. A few years ago, my wife and I decided to make our dream a reality by buying a property in Philippines.

Palawan is a beautiful island in the Philippines, often mentioned as one of the most beautiful islands in the world. It's known for its white-sand beaches, clear blue waters, and lush rainforests. We were immediately drawn to Palawan's natural beauty, but we were also impressed by its safety and affordability.

Our property is located in a small village between the towns of Narra and Aborlan. It's about 15 minutes from the main road, and about 30 minutes from the nearest town. The property is 18,000 square meters, which is big enough for privacy, but small enough to be manageable.

Our day-to-day life in Palawan is very simple. We wake up early and enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs, and coffee. Then, we spend our days relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, or exploring the rainforest. We also enjoy visiting local villages and markets.

We love the peace and quiet of our property. It's so relaxing to be surrounded by nature and to be able to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We also love the friendly people of Palawan. They are always happy to help us, and they always make us feel welcome.

We've been living in Palawan for a few years now, and we've never regretted our decision. It's a beautiful, safe, and affordable place to live. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a tropical paradise.

Downsides

Of course, there are some downsides to living in Palawan. The rainy season can be a bit long, and it can get very hot and humid. There are also some bugs, but they're not too bad. Overall, we think the pros of living in Palawan far outweigh the cons.

Buying a property in the Philippines

Buying a property in the Philippines is not complicated, as long as you hire a decent lawyer to take care of the paperwork. Just like in any other country, you'll need to do your research and make sure you're getting a good deal.

If you're thinking about buying a property in Palawan, I encourage you to do your research and make sure it's the right decision for you. But if you're looking for a tropical paradise, I can't recommend Palawan highly enough.
