Details

Situated in the heart of the village and only a few minutesʼ walk from the railway station, Chalet Jean Marie is an 18th century farmhouse, extended and converted into six apartments. This 43 m2 apartment is on the ground floor and from the south-facing patio has spectacular views across the valley to the Grand and Petit Muverans.

The apartment was refurbished and furnished to a very high standard about 10 years ago, with oak floors throughout. The spacious living/dining/kitchen is light and airy, and the double bedroom is cool and calm, and also has a door to the exterior. The bathroom has a shower, but no bath. The kitchen has generous cupboard and worktop space, and there is plenty of additional storage and hanging room for bedlinen and clothes. The building has a separate laundry room and ski/bike storage area, shared with the other owners. The apartment has its own storage cellar.

The chalet is perfectly situated for hikers and cyclists, with many trails straight from the apartment door. A car is not necessary here: the local mountain train climbs up from Bex in the valley to Gryon and Villars, and then continues up to the Col de Bretaye.

At an altitude of 1,200 m, the area offers every sort of sport, relaxation and culture in an idyllic setting. Featuring a spectacular panorama extending from Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc, the region is a paradise for all sporting activities: in summer, there are more than 300 km of marked hiking trails and 150 km of all-terrain bicycle trails, plus an 18-hole golf course at an altitude of 1,600 m, a sports centre with swimming pool, and public tennis courts in Gryon and Villars.

In winter, the mountain train and two telecabines give access to the 77 ski lifts of the Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets and Glacier 3000 ski area; cross-country skiers will find 220 km of marked trails, and non-skiers can try the range of other winter activities on offer.
