Details
This unique property was originally a hotel, bar and outbuildings and many of the original features have been retained. It comprises a 3-storey 5-bedroom house, separate gite and studio apartment sharing an enclosed courtyard and large garden with swimming pool.
The property is on mains drainage and is situated in the centre of a pretty village on the banks of the River Benaize. Everything you need is within walking distance including a mini-supermarket, pharmacy, post office, bank, schools and health centre.
There are year-round low-cost flights into Poitiers and Limoges international airports which are both about an hour away by car. This area can also be reached by Eurostar/TGV via Paris to Poitiers and then a local train to Montmorillon just 15 minutes by car from the property.
The house has a dual aspect – if you go out of the front door you are in the centre of the village but if you leave via the gate at the top of the garden you are a short walk away from the river and many country walks.
At the moment I successfully let the gite and studio but the house itself could also easily be adapted to provide B&B accommodation for extra income as this area is an ideal half-way stop for travellers going to the South of France or Spain.
