Santander International Airport and its ferry terminal are only an hour away as are San Sebastian and the Rioja wine region.

The nearest town is Mungia, 5 minutes drive away which has all local amenities, including doctor’s surgery, banks, town hall post office, sports centre, schools, supermarkets, and many bars and restaurants. A busy local market takes place every Friday in the main square and there are lively fiestas and farmers fairs held at regular intervals throughout the year.
There are 4 buses an hour from Mungia to the centre of Bilbao (20 minutes) as well as buses to the busy fishing town of Bermeo, Bakio with its beautiful surfing beach and Gernika with its famous market. The popular beaches of Plentzia and Gorliz are only 15 minutes away by car and also act as centres for kayaking, padel boarding, surfing, rowing etc.. There are many horse riding facilities within a 20 minute radius and numerous golf courses.
If you are looking for international schools, the American School of Bilbao, St George´s English school, the French school and German school are all only 30 minutes by car, and some of these have a school bus facility.
We have spent 10 wonderful years in this house but now feel it is time to move on as our children have headed off to university and new horizons beckon.
