Molino Cerradura was in a sorry state when we bought in 2000, now it is a beautiful home sitting in its own land in the countryside surrounded by natural beauty in the foothills of the Sierra Navada . It is in very good condition and well maintained and is a very comfortable home all year round.
It is situated 1 km up a reasonable track out of the village of Yator 5 kms from the town of Cadiar and 5 kms from Ugijar . A car can manage the track ok . Both Cadiar and Ugijar have Drs and 24 hour medical care, banks and post offices, pharmacies, schools. , a range of shops that you can get most things required without having to travel further afield.
The property 275 m2 comprises of the main house and attached a single story one bedroom apartment . The one bedroom apartment could be used for guests or holiday rental . The house has 4 bedrooms one is ensuite plus family bathroom and downstairs a shower room . One bedroom is on the ground floor, we currently use it as an office . All bedrooms in the main house have fitted wardrobes and 2 have terraces plus one other terrace with beautiful views down the valley to the Sierra Contraviesa.
The house and casita has gas central heating , a large wood burning stove in the main house and a cute stove in the casita and the bedrooms have air conditioning.
Outside there is a patio area and pool , the pool measures 3.5 x 10 meters . Outside the apartment is a jacuzzi . There are storage buildings and ample parking.
On the land of a 1000 m2 there are olives trees , almond trees fig trees orange and lemon trees and vines , areas closet to the house and casita have been made into a garden with roses lavender jasmine geraniums and more.
We have mains electricity ,telephone , good internet connection , TV.
Airports Almeria and Malaga are 1hr 30 and 2 hr 30 driving time on a good run.
The area is of outstanding natural beauty , the wildlife plentiful and an abundance of wild flowers . Walking or mountain biking opportunities are incredible and suitable for all levels . I love to see the shepherd walking the countryside with sheep and goats all day stopping whilst they graze . There are still some people who on horseback , mule or donkey go to the fields to tend to their crops . It is a tranquil way of life here.
And for wine lovers the Sierra Contraviesa is a vine growing area producing some acceptable wine.
To the nearest beach la Rabita is only a 30 minute drive where there are fish restaurants.
The paper work for Molino Cerradura is in order with everything legal , ready to go with no delays.
We love it all ! However age and health are regrettably telling us to down size!
