The apartment is located in the Borgonovo resort in the beautiful seaside town of Pizzo - on the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria. The apartment is walking distance from the town centre.
Pizzo is a popular tourist destination and has everything a seaside town needs to offer: a central piazza, shops, bars, restaurants and its own beach. The town stands on a cliff which affords panoramic views of the Gulf of Euphemia.

Pizzo is only about 20 minutes drive (20 km) from Lamezia International Airport, which has connections to the UK, Germany and elsewhere throughout Europe. It’s also just 40 minutes drive from the famous seaside town of Tropea, spectacularly perched on a clifftop overlooking its beautiful beaches which are consistently ranked among the most beautiful in Italy.
Within the Borgonovo complex the apartment is ideally located just next to the pool, with a substantial rooftop terrace affording views of both the pool area and the sea. It’s location and structure as a townhouse gives it more of an autonomous feel relative to many of the other apartments in the complex.
The total apartment size is about 74m sq, which includes the rooftop terrace. The interior is 37m sq in size. A number of the other apartments in the complex have added a shaded pergola to their rooftop terraces – extending the living area. There is also a patio area between the gate and front door.
Key features of the apartment include: Master bedroom, Fully-fitted bathroom, Fully-fitted kitchen with dining and lounge area, Patio and entrance gate out front, substantial Rooftop Terrace, Poolside location, Air-conditioning, Allocated Parking Space, Washing machine, Sofa bed - allowing allowing accommodation for 2 more people, Sunbeds, parasols and sunchairs, Gated entrance, Windows and entrance door have the usual Italian 'tapparelle' for shade and security. The apartment will be sold with everything in it.
In addition to being a choice holiday home, the property is an ideal investment opportunity. Since first being advertised online for rental in 2016, the apartment has consistently been booked out over the peak holiday season. It has been ranked by booking.com as one of their bestsellers in the Pizzo area. With modest pricing, annual turnover in each of the past two years has been between €4,500 - €5,000 over the Summer season. This could easily be improved on with a better marketing and pricing strategy and additions to the apartment such as WiFi etc. Please see the apartment advert on booking.com for more details and to see guest reviews of their stay:
Calabria is a mountainous region of outstanding natural beauty and boasts no less than three national parks and two UNESCO world heritage sites. For those interested in Winter sports there are a number of ski resorts located within 2 hours drive of Pizzo (https://www.skiresort.info/ski-resorts/calabria/).
Calabria has a fascinating and colourful history encompassing Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab and Norman influence - with many interesting archaeological remains present throughout the region. Pythagoras, the famous Greek mathematician, lived in Crotone. There are still Greek and Albanian-speaking minorities living in Calabria.
Every region of Italy boasts its own particular culinary delights and Calabria is no different in this regard, with a delectable variety of cuisine on offer. Distinguishing features include the prevalence of relatively spicier dishes such as ‘nduja. For wine fans Calabria has plenty to sample – the well-known Cirò is just one of nine DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) and eleven IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) wine varieties. In fact, wine cultivation in the region traces its origins back as far as Magna Grecia in ancient times.
