Montforte is 10 mins away where doctors, council offices are. Estremoz 20 mins where you will find an amazing market every saturday morning selling fresh fruit and veg, cheeses, meats, plants, flowers, leather goods. Pottery and an amazing flea market selling antiques and Bric-à-brac. It also has large supermarkets and other shops. The square where market is held is beautiful with a great mix of buildings and a castle of course.
The beautiful towns of Castelo de Vide and Marvao are 40 mins away. Evora, Elvas, Borba, and Vila de viscousa are all within 30- 100 mins. Lisbon 2 hours. Porto or Algarve 3.5 hours. The new motor way takes you to Badajoz Spain in an hour from Estremoz where there are shops galore. There is also an out door waterpark just next to shopping mall.The area is fantasticly central for visiting many great places. The village of Vaiamonte has several restaurants and bars, ATM, well stocked mini mercados ,weekly fruit and vegetable market and two bakeries. Just outside the village is the 5-star wine hotel Torre de Palma and the ruins of a Roman Villa. Not far is the thermal spa of Cabeco de Vide renowned for its sulphuric Spring water.
The famous Lusitano horse breeding centre the Alter Real Stud is 20 minuets away where you can visit and take part if wanted.
The house has new double glazing and door to the front. Insulation in 4 rooms. Front 2 rooms are spacious and used as bedrooms but could easily be changed. The lounge has typical Alentejo Fire place. Kitchen has all the basics.
The garden is secluded and of a good size. Plenty room to put above ground pool or more permanent one if desired.
Villagers are extremely polite and respectful. You can choose how much interaction you wish. They will go out there way to help if needed.
The house has mains water and electricity. Gas for hot water is by bottle and supply's shower and hot water. The adjoining properties are holiday homes and the immediate neighbours are rarely seen or heard.
The village is mainly Portuguese but there also English, Italian, American, Dutch, French, Belgium and others! Some live here permanently Some holiday homes.
