Beautifully appointed old country house

Iznájar, Córdoba, Andalusia

  • Semi-Detached House
  • Bedrooms: 4

If you have ever dreamt about owning a large country house that is tranquil, very beautiful, in excellent maintained condition this is the one for you. This unique house is both historic and equipped for the modern age we live in.

Casa Fuente Moyana is a beautifully appointed old country house set in the midst of Andalucía’s olive groves near to the waterside town of Iznajar. The house sleeps up to eight people but is also wonderfully suited to couples and small groups.

The swimming pool has fresh water drawn from a nearby spring set in a mature and secluded garden all surrounded by olive groves and marvellous views of a wooded valley. This property is an outstanding example of Andalucian architecture ideal as a permanent residence, holiday home or rental property.

Casa Fuente Moyana combines modern convenience living with traditional Spanish detail that gives the house its charm, striking interiors, marvellous terraces and great sense of history.

Located down a very quiet country lane, the front door opens up into a secluded 600 square metre mature garden easy to maintain yet full of different environments. Because the house was built into the side of the valley there are three terraces: the sunset, vine and pool terraces that extend down to the garden.

The 526 sq ft (48.87 sq m) vine terrace has a natural roof made by grape vines growing across its length and breadth. This provides a wonderful dining area or a shady place just to relax in and count the many, many bunches of grapes that the vines produce annually.

From the vine terrace a flight of steps reaches the 443 sq ft (41.19 sq m) sunset terrace. This terrace is the perfect spot to spend evenings watching the day transition to starry night, dinning by starlight or simple relaxing in a place where there is no light pollution, just the marvels of the milky.

The pool terrace gives access to by 16 ft (5m) by 23 ft (7m) swimming pool and a mature, landscaped garden planted with aromatic flowers and bushes and the vivid colours of the Mediterranean.

Ground Floor

The ground floor is focused around an airy and spacious open-plan fitted kitchen measuring 13.7 ft (4.25m) by 15.5 ft (4.75m) . The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob and oven and also a olive wood-burning stove that in winter heats the whole of the house.

A door from the kitchen leads to a shaded porch and access to the ground floor bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet and which is also conveniently situated close to the pool terrace. The ground floor bathroom measures 7.4 ft (2.25m) by 6.7 ft (2.05m).
