Overlooking a typical, friendly Portugese village, with lake views, this beautiful modern house is full of natural sunlight all year round. As its name suggests, this is a serene spot with beautiful views and daily visits from butterflies and birds, but has easy access to all the glorious sights and activities in the region. In less than fifteen minutes you can be in any of the four local towns; Santa Comba Dao, Tabua, Mortagua or Tondella, and within about 30 minutes you can be in the small historic cities of Coimbra or Viseu. A short walk takes you to the lakeside where you can swim or launch your canoe/ boat, a short drive to the nearest river beach or marina with paddle boarding, wake boarding, white water rafting or jetskiis or the beautiful sandy beach at Figueira da Foz is an approximate 40 minute easy drive. Nearby there is an excellent golf course and horse riding facilities. If history is your interest you will be spoilt for choice.
Designed by the contemporary architect, Paulo Barbosa, the house is designed to be easy to live in, whether as a home or a holiday home. Built on rock, it's split levels from the entrance door takes you either upstairs to three of the four bedrooms with two bathrooms, or downstairs to the open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge, with the fourth bedroom and en-suite bathroom 'annexe' style. There is masses of storage throughout the house and balconies to step out and admire the views from every bedroom and living room. All floors are either polished wood or stone with underfloor heating/ cooling system, although you only need open some of the glass sliding doors to create a beautifully, gentle through breeze.
