La Puye is centrally located with the medieval town of Chauvigny and the river Vienne only ten minutes drive away. Chauvigny has ancient castles overlooking the city park, lake and river. There are shops of every description, supermarkets a large Saturday market, Dr's, dentists, Vets. bank, primary and secondary schools, and a cinema which shows English films every month and a large sports centre.
In the other direction is the town of St Savin which is a Unesco world heritage site. There are also numerous shops bars and restaurants
Some twenty minutes North is the spar town of La Roche Possay where there is a health spa, casino, race course and an 18 hole golf course, along with shops bars and restaurants.
Poitiers is some thirty minuters drive away. This town has an international airport and railway station with a TGV connection to Paris in 1.1/2 hours. Limoges airport is approximately 1.20 hours from La Puye
