Glenhope east is an locality, which used to be centred on a school, which closed in 1970s. Nowadays it is a collection of rural properties, each greater than 40 ha (100 acres), with main industries livestock grazing, vineyards, olives, timber production.
The terrain is undulating and is positioned on the northern slopes of the Great Dividing Ranges.
The nearest towns are Heathcote, 15km north and Tooborac, 12km East. Both are located on the Northern Highway.
