Cussac Information

La Benechie is in the heart of the Perigord/Limousin Regional Natural park and is on the historical 'Route Richard coeur de Lion'. Cussac is 4 kms , Oradour is 7Kms and Chalus 10kms. Between them, they provide all of every day needs. More specialised services are in Limoges which is 37Kms distant and takes 40 minutes by car.
Forests and lakes abound in the area and any industry is basically limited to products assiciated with wood. Deer and wild boar also abound and fishing is big business. Toffee coloured Limousin cattle also can be found in the fields between the forested areas. Sweet chestnuts and apples are also farmed and festivals surrounding their products are huge annual attractions. The area is not highly populated but the local people are very friendly and welcoming.
