The house and village are situated in a very convenient location for airports (Charles De Gaulle & Orly), Paris, Euro Disney and the Loire Valley. The summer time is beautiful, especially in the garden which is very private. Fontainebleau has a large expatriate community and a good selection of excellent bars and restaurants that provide a range of French and international cuisine. There are a number of super and hyper markets and shopping malls within 20 minutes drive. The village itself is a traditional quiet village which is not being over developed due to being in the protected Fontainebleau forest region.
There is an abundance of attractions in the area with many picturesque villages and four beautiful chateaux within 10 to 25 minutes drive whilst the ancient medieval city of Provins (the site of UNESCO World Heritage) is within a 40-minute drive. For golf enthusiasts, the Golf de Fontainebleau (ranked as one of the best 20 golf courses in Europe) is a 10-minute drive away. Disneyland Paris is 40 minutes drive away.
The area is also a haven for horse riders with the Grand Parquet Stadium close by, attracting 300,000 visitors a year and offering facilities over 26 hectares including grass arenas, training grounds and cross- country track. 25,000 hectares of forest offer a range of outdoor activities including biking trails, hiking and the best bouldering in Europe. The area is home to abundant wildlife with excellent bird watching sites and hunting grounds for deer, wild boar and pheasants. The closest fitness club is located 4 minutes drive away in the neighbouring village.
