Honfleur is beautiful, historic town situated at the mouth of the River Seine. Famous for it's seafaring past - Champlain sailed to Canada from Honfleur in 1608 - and as an artists' colony. The École de Honfleur included Boudin, Monet and Jongkind.
Today the town is a thriving centre for both locals and tourists with a good selection of shops and supermarkets, art galleries, museums as well as many restaurants and bars.
It is ideally located for the exploration of Normandy with many places of interest and towns nearby and is easily accessible by air, sea or road.
