Langogne is a small town (max 3000 inhabitants) with very friendly people. It’s impossible to go into town without bumping into someone, (greet each other with 3 kisses!) who will enquire as to your health and your family. All services are here and workmen are usually very prompt and helpful. There are 2 supermarkets. Schools here are excellent and there are students who come here from afar to study at the local lycée. Crime here is practically non existent. The town puts on several festivals each year plus there are many clubs and societies that you can join. The clubs include walking, gardening, art, bridge, dancing, yoga etc. The nearest big towns are Mende and Le Puy and there are bus services to those towns. This area is not a “little England” as in some other areas of France - here, you are in a very French environment. Summers are guaranteed to be sunny and winters will have periodic snowfalls, (often with bright blue skies), and all seasons are beautiful. In spring there are whole meadows full of wild narcissi and autumn brings delicious wild cèp mushrooms! Lake Naussac is a few minutes walk away, with lots of lovely walks and a beach and café in summer.
