Lemnos (or Limnos) is a large island sitting in the northeastern Aegean Sea, between Lesvos and Thassos. Due to its long distance from Athens, Lemnos has managed to stay under the radar, so it is a rather secluded place, even during the summer. In fact, its unspoiled charm makes it a great destination for those who seek privacy and relaxation.
Lemnos boasts a beautiful natural setting. It is packed with mountains, while its coastline is fringed with sandy bays. Except for Myrina Lemnos and Plati, which are somehow touristy, the rest of Lemnos beaches are vast and offer total privacy. Some of them are actually perfect for windsurfing, which is slowly becoming a thing in Lemnos!
Lemnos also has a lot to offer in terms of sightseeing! The Medieval Castle of Myrina, the Ancient Poliochni, the Ancient Kavirio and the legendary cave of Philoctetes are not to be missed!
Limnos is a great holiday destination off the beaten tourist trail!
