Travel the Great Western Greenway a world class outdoor attraction, a 42km road cycle and walking route which loops around scenic Clew Bay, mainly along the line of the old midland great western railway from Achill to Westport. It provides an excellent recreational and transport amenity.
The county towns of Castlebar and Westport are both within about a 40 minute drive away. With all major stores, and a choice of good restaurants and clubs, Castlebar has a major and well respected hospital.
Ireland international west airport, Knock is less than a two hour drive, catering for flights within Ireland, the UK, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, as well as the USA, Spain and Portugal.
The Knock Shrine to Our Lady is approximately an hour and 20 minutes drive away.
Galway City is about 2 hours' drive away. There is a frequent bus service from Achill to all major towns and cities.
