The Gulf of Tigullio is a creek that lies on the Ligurian Sea from the East river, bordered by the Regional Natural Park of Portofino to the north-west and Punta Manara to the south-east. There is much more to be explored within the Gulf such as the coves in the west, the towns of Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure and the Gulf of Rapallo where learning extends to the coastal town. In the east, in Sestri Levante , two bays are known as "Bay of Fairy Tales" and the "Bay of Silence".
In the hinterland of Tigullio, the municipality of Santo Stefano d'Aveto deserves a special note, with its new ski slopes and the Regional Park of the Aveto which protects the natural beauties of one of the most stunning and significant parts of the Ligurian Apennines. The safeguarded area, just 3000 hectares, extends within three valleys, Aveto, Val Graveglia and Valle Sturla, each of which has specific characteristics: high alpine landscapes, pastures and extensive beech woods in Aveto; meadows pastures, chestnut, hazelnut, olive groves and orchards in the Valley Sturla and a well-preserved rural landscape with olive groves and vineyards and, above all, a great variety of rocks and minerals, quarries and mines, in Val Graveglia.
Facing the sea and in land Leivi is certainly an ideal place for those who want peace without sacrificing the ability to reach the sea in 10 minutes or the ski slopes in Santo Stefano d'Aveto in 50 minutes. In more details, Leivi is located in the hinterland of the Gulf of Tigullio, with Chiavari behind it and, Zoagli next to it. Its territory is characterized by a hilly landscape typical of the eastern Liguria, where the scattered settlements in the village, made up of many small hamlets, terraced hills winds.
Referred to as the olive oil country, for the quantity and quality of its olive oil production, Leivi is green and tranquil, its trails, through forests and meadows, offer great views from their cycle and pedestrian paths. Interesting and significant is the trail of the "5 Towers" an old abandoned trail, brought to light and well cleaned by the Pro Loco of Leivi in 1998, which runs all round the territory, touching four ancient churches and a medieval tower.
Today Leivi is famous for a number of sport infrastructures: 5 or 7 a side football pitches, bowls courts, multipurpose gym, all facilities managed by Pro Loco Leivi in coordination with the municipality, and a riding school where horses can be rented for walks in the area.
Starting from the property and proceeding along the "trail del Fossato" for about 50 meters, the center of the “Bocco di Leivi” can be reached, where there are several businesses including restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, newsagents, tobacconists and public transport connection to Chiavari. Within 2 Km, other services such us a nursery, primary schools, a communal gym and a communal playground are provided.
