Narni Information
Narni is a typical Umbrian town that retains most of its striking medieval appearance, with stone buildings, and narrow cobblestone streets. The best way to get a feel of the place is to walk around these cobbled streets and discover it by yourself. I suggest to visit the subterranean city. The main event of the year is, without doubt, "La Corsa dell'Anello", the race of the ring, which takes place over a week at the beginning of May. It goes back to the medieval times. The town is divided in three Terzieri, which compete against each other to win the race and to display the best medieval procession and costumes. During the week, ancient cellars are opened, serving medieval menus. Not to miss! Later in the month the Millemiglia historical car race passes through the town on the way to Rome. All through Spring and Summer you will be spoiled for choice with all the festas going on in the little towns around Narni.
