Góis Information
Gois is a the regional county town with all major facilities including a well known river beach and cafe/restaurant in summer months, there are several well served river beaches in the area on the rivers Ceira and Mondego. Gois is an atractive town to visit with a range of restaurants and bars to choose from and riverside walks with parks and picnic areas providing outdoor barbeque facilities. There is a tourist office which will provide information about the history and culture of the area which is well known for the Schist villages, Tiny slate built dwellings high in the hills preserved and restored to show the old ways of living. There are many local places of historical interest to visit in the council area.
