This is an amazing holiday home area with properties predominantly owned as second properties (holiday homes) by wealthy South Africans or owned and occupied by retirees. The St Francis Bay area is strictly controlled by planning regulations, providing a unique and beautiful place in which to live. Peaceful and quiet, the area has much to offer for those interested in water-based activities: fishing, sailing, jet-skiing, canoeing etc with squash, tennis, bowls and two local golf courses. One of these is a Jack Nicklaus designed course and will ultimately be one of the finest courses in South Africa. If you like fine dining, there are at least fifteen restaurants to cater for your needs and a new vineyard, recently established. This best-kept secret is only a one hour fifteen minute drive away from Port Elisabeth. From there, it is a quick flight to Jo'Burg Intenational Airport or off to Cape Town, where its delights can be experienced on the outbound or homeward bound journey.
